I whipped up this chili today for the Superbowl today. I must admit though, I’m looking forward more to the commercials and the Puppy Bowl than the actual game. Hope everyone has a safe and fun Superbowl Sunday!

Addiction: Buffalo Chicken Dip
One of my close friends is throwing a surprise party today for her husband. I should have known that when I asked what I could bring, the immediate response would be “buffalo chicken dip.” This dip is all over the place now, so chances are you’ve had it or made it. The January/ February 2013 Food Network Magazine has an article stating that during last year’s Superbowl, it was the most searched-for party dip. It’s perfect for football games and parties because its super easy to make and crazy addictive. I get requests from co-workers and my supervisor to bring it in because its simply amazing. If you haven’t had the pleasure of eating this marvelous concoction, MAKE IT.
Step 1: Mix hot sauce and chicken.
Step 2: Add cheesy ingredients and ranch and heat till combined.
Step 3: Try not to eat it all before you’ve brought it to the party. This is the hardest step.
Keep the dip warm in a crock pot to serve.
DO: Use Franks Red Hot sauce. I’ve tried store brand hot sauce to save money, and it’s not worth it. Nothing compares to Franks Red Hot.
DO: You can make this “healthy” by using low-fat cream cheese. It does nothing to alter the flavor or consistency.
DO: Use Tostitos Scoops to serve it with, but be warned, you’ll need two bags to get you through the dip. One bag of Scoops = A sad pile of buffalo chicken dip with nothing to eat it with.
DON’T: Use canned chicken like the original recipe calls for, unless you’re into that kind of thing. To me, canned chicken is cat food. If you want to keep it easy, buy a store cooked rotisserie chicken for about $5 and cut up the breast meat.
Enjoy!
